Göteborgsvarvet is a running competition organised annually in May since 1980 in Göteborg, Sweden. It may be better known to English speaking runners as Gothenburg Half Marathon.

For those who want to experience the excitement of the largest half marathon in the world but are not ready to run the distance, the organisers prepared a shorter 4.3 km run – Cityvartet.

Course details

The course starts in one of Gothenburg’s most beautiful parks outside the historic Slottsskogsvallen Athletic Arena – the site of many world records. You will circle the city crossing over two bridges, which will give you an outstanding view of Gothenburg and its harbour. Before finishing in Slottsskogsvallen Athletic Arena you will pass through Gothenburgs picturesque city centre. The race is also spiced up with an audience of over 200,000 people, 50 music stations and many other activities along the way!
