Known as ‘the people’s marathon’, the Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon event welcomes all ages, abilities and fitness levels. With the help of 1,400 volunteers, there are six running events (5K, 10K, 15K, half marathon, full marathon, marathon team relay, youth run-4KM and 2KM) taking place during the Victoria Day weekend every year. The course is known to have its fair share of hills, but organizers are sure that it’s nothing you can’t conquer. Plus, the whole city of Halifax will be cheering you on! All of the races begin downtown. You’ll pass by all of Halifax’s points of attraction, including Citadel Hill, Point Pleasant Park, and the beautiful downtown core. There is also an Active Living Expo that span two days with 70 vendors and more than 80 booths. Over 80 local charities raise more than half a million dollars annually through the Scotiabank Charity Challenge. https://bluenosemarathon.com/

The Cape Wrath Challenge Marathon is one of the most remarkable runs in the UK and past participants say that both it’s physical challenge and stunning natural surroundings are unparalleled by any other UK marathon event. It is essential that every participant understands that this is quite unlike a normal road race. It is extremely challenging, including a climb of over 2,415 feet and is the most North Westerly and probably the most demanding marathon on mainland Britain. The route is extremely exposed. The logistics involved in hosting these events mean that available entries are limited and it is vital that individuals and teams register early. https://capewrathchallenge.co.uk/marathon-and-team-event.html
