The event is an opportunity to do something active and fun while remembering those affected by breast cancer. Make Mother’s Day meaningful and memorable – join us for a morning of fun and festivities while raising funds and awareness for breast cancer research. See you on Sunday 10 May 2020! In 2020 the event will be held in all capital cities and in several major metropolitan and regional locations across Australia. Search below to find your closest event. Holding a Mother’s Day Classic event is a wonderful way to show support and solidarity to those in the community dealing with breast cancer. In 2019, there were 78 regional events held around Australia by some amazing volunteers who hosted their first or tenth MDC! Community organisations, athletics clubs and schools are all welcome to participate and there is no set distance. Most events have a 4km walk but some also host a run. With the emphasis on having fun and giving it a go, the Mother’s Day Classic […]

The Halstead & Essex Marathon is an undulating, rural race, incorporating many quiet and picturesque country lanes. Many runners state this is the most beautiful marathon course they have ever run. The race attracts athletes from across the UK and abroad and the furthest know travellers to the race have come from Dubai and Omaha Running Club, USA. North Essex is relatively unrecognised as an area of extreme beauty but has an abundance of hidden back roads amongst rolling hills, woods and farmlands. Even more attractive to runners is that, apart from a 400m stretch in the last mile, the race is entirely on roads with very little traffic. Halstead & Essex Marathon

Known as ‘the people’s marathon’, the Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon event welcomes all ages, abilities and fitness levels. With the help of 1,400 volunteers, there are six running events (5K, 10K, 15K, half marathon, full marathon, marathon team relay, youth run-4KM and 2KM) taking place during the Victoria Day weekend every year. The course is known to have its fair share of hills, but organizers are sure that it’s nothing you can’t conquer. Plus, the whole city of Halifax will be cheering you on! All of the races begin downtown. You’ll pass by all of Halifax’s points of attraction, including Citadel Hill, Point Pleasant Park, and the beautiful downtown core. There is also an Active Living Expo that span two days with 70 vendors and more than 80 booths. Over 80 local charities raise more than half a million dollars annually through the Scotiabank Charity Challenge. https://bluenosemarathon.com/

The Cape Wrath Challenge Marathon is one of the most remarkable runs in the UK and past participants say that both it’s physical challenge and stunning natural surroundings are unparalleled by any other UK marathon event. It is essential that every participant understands that this is quite unlike a normal road race. It is extremely challenging, including a climb of over 2,415 feet and is the most North Westerly and probably the most demanding marathon on mainland Britain. The route is extremely exposed. The logistics involved in hosting these events mean that available entries are limited and it is vital that individuals and teams register early. https://capewrathchallenge.co.uk/marathon-and-team-event.html
