The Aabenraa Mountain Marathon starts in the city’s beautiful center, more specifically at the big square Storetorv, from which the new exciting routes go. The routes are a combination of the hills in the beautiful countryside around Aabenraa as well as through the city center, with the pedestrian zone and the old town. Storetorv is the center of the running party and this year is no exception. In the center there will be big screens, party atmosphere and a long red-carpet run into the finish area, so you can be helped all the way to the finish! In goal, you run directly into the arms of one of our sweet volunteers who is ready with this year’s great medal! The Great Serengeti Migration Marathon & Anti-Poaching Run to begin was an idea formed by the event organizer SETSA –Serengeti in 2020. It is a racing event held over two consecutive days organized by Serengeti Tourism Sports Agency (SETSA) which uses sports to promote tourism and attract a numbers of tourists to the western side of the Serengeti National Park. This event’s name comes from one of the biggest events that happens yearly inside the Serengeti National Park, where some of the wildebeests and other Antelopes migrate between Serengeti National park -Tanzania and Maasai Mara National Reserve -Kenya. It is during this time when a large number of tourists visit the Serengeti to witness one of the world’s natural wonders. This event will allow participants to not just witness the migration but to be part of it by running between the groups of migrating wild animals along the Serengeti National Park, Ikona WMA, Ikorongo & Grumeti game reserves. Preparations for the annual Königsschlösser Romantic Marathon are well underway and the first registrations have already fluttered through our letterbox. The Königsschlösser Romatic Marathon hosted in the East Allgäu – one of the most attractive and prettiest regions in the whole of Bavaria – is a unique run. This was confirmed once again by the run staged this year: over 800 runners went under starter’s orders in Füssen on a day with the most perfect weather conditions. Some three kilometres later, with the town left far behind, the runners could look forward to the rest of the run through the most beautiful countryside imaginable: across the Hopfer forest, round Lake Hopfensee, across the floodplain of the river Lech along the banks of Lake Forggensee, across lush green meadows and past the royal castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau, through the Schwansee woodlands and on to the final sprint for the town again. Knarvikmila is Norway’s most magnificent running event. This year, KnarvikMila takes place at the beginning September. KnarvikMila is more than one race and more than a single distance. It is also more than a sports event. This is a week filled with cultural and sports events. See our programme for more information and take a look at our different distances. KnarvikMila was founded in 1982 by initiator and enthusiast Helge Brekke and is arranged by the athletic association FIL-AKS77. Since 1982, thousands of feet have run along roads and tracks in Knarvik for a week every autumn. In 2022, 500 volunteers worked to create a memorable event for 6000 participants. Without a group of volunteers extending far beyond the members of the athletic association it would be impossible to pull off the event that KnarvikMila has become: a whole week of activities including a conference, concerts and trade fair. The Rimi Vilnius Marathon is an annual city marathon, held in Vilnius, Lithuania. First introduced in 2001 as 10k race it evolved to a classic marathon in 2004. The half marathon was introduced in 2006. The Rimi Vilnius Marathon is AIMS certified since 2007. It is one of the fastest growing marathons in the Baltics and the biggest running festival in Lithuania.
